Two companies visited ICIQ to explore potential collaboration opportunities
The hydrogen technologies from the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ-CERCA) offer solutions to companies which are looking to face challenges related to renewable and environmentally-friendlier energies. In this context, two energy companies from Malaysia visited ICIQ to meet experts and explore collaboration options with the centre.
ICIQ-KTT team introduced the centre’s research on renewable hydrogen and alternative fuels, a field that attracts these energy companies from Malaysia committed to sustainability. The meeting brought together the CEOs of the companies, directors from two technology consulting companies from Catalonia, and experts from ICIQ Industry and Research areas.
The visitors toured the ICIQ facilities and analised the options to develop collaboration projects related to cutting-edge hydrogen technologies. The participants included Robert Hardin and Colin Patrick, from Malaysian companies; Francesc Domingo, CEO of MTi; Jordi Pol, Managing Director of BCN Smart Technologies; Dr. Fernando Bravo, ICIQ-KTT Manager; Dr. Sergio Sopeña, ICIQ Business Development Manager; and Dr. Felipe Garcés, ICIQ Senior Scientist, and Dr. Jiahao Yu, ICIQ Postdoctoral Research Associate, both of whom are part of Prof. J.R. Galán-Mascarós research group.
ICIQ collaborates with industry through several strategies: contract research projects, technology licensing, spin-off creation, fee for service, and joint units. The Malaysian companies will evaluate all the options to choose the one that best suits their needs. In this way, ICIQ transfers its technology and knowledge to the energy industry sectors, contributing to the development of leading technologies and a more sustainable future.
