The company opened its first headquarters in the south of Europe near to Barcelona in April
Wanhua Chemical, a global chemical company from China and among the global leading suppliers of chemical innovative products as polyurethanes, petrochemicals, performance chemicals and emerging materials, visited the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ-CERCA) in order to arrange possible future collaborations with the state-of-the-art research and transfer expertise from ICIQ.
Prof. Emilio Palomares, director of ICIQ and the ICIQ-KTT team presented all the potential collaborations, while Prof. Núria López, Prof. Arjan W. Kleij and Dr. José A. Berrocal explained their research in sustainable catalysis and smart materials where also simulations and digitalisation play a significant role
From Wanhua, Dr. Yuan Li, vice president of Wanhua R&D Institute, Dr. Yongzhen Zhang, head of Technology Development Center, Mr. Tong Mu, senior researcher, Dr. Michelle Long, Head of Wanhua Barcelona Technical Center and Mr. Alex Su, manager, Wanhua Barcelona Technical Center visited the Institute.
On 25th April, the Chinese company opened the Wanhua Barcelona Technical Center, in Cornellà de Llobregat, their first headquarters in the south of Europe. With this opening, the company aims to reinforce collaborative efforts in scientific research and innovation with local institutions.
ICIQ collaborates with industry through several strategies: contract research projects technology licensing, spin-off creation, fee for service, and joint units.
