It’s time to say goodbye to the young talents who were part of our Summer Fellows 2023 team. This programme gave them a chance to explore their interests, dive into cutting-edge research, and get some hands-on experience in chemistry projects.
Thanks to the Summer Fellowship Programme, 14 undergraduate students from all over the world have spent the summer months involved in research projects from ICIQ’s Group Leaders. Their dedication and passion have contributed to their own personal growth and to the ICIQ research.
This initial stage at ICIQ provided valuable experiences and memories that will shape these students’ future. Despite their Summer Fellowship ending today, their journey at ICIQ does not necessarily conclude with this programme. Once these students obtain their chemistry degree, they may have the opportunity to continue as Master’s and PhD students at the centre.
The closing ceremony took place this Wednesday, 30th of August. Prof. Echavarren, ICIQ’s Group Leader and Scientific Director of the Severo Ochoa Programme at the Institute, has given the students a speech in which he encouraged them to persevere on their research careers, underlining the significance of their contributions and their potential to shape the scientific landscape of the future.
After that, the Summer Fellows had the chance to showcase the research done to ICIQ community. They started discussions about their novel perspectives, being this their first test as chemistry researchers presenting their results to other experts.
The ICIQ 2023 Summer Fellows now are ICIQ Alumni. Thanks to all!
