The selection of candidates for the 2012 ICIQ Summer Fellowships has been specially challenging this year.

We have received nearly 90 applications, the highest number of applications since the fellowships programme started.

We are delighted to announce that the candidates awarded with one of those fellowships are (in no particular order):

• Andrey I. Konovalov(Higher Chemical College of the Russian Academy of Science) will joinVladimir Grushin’s team.
• Sofía Ferrer Cabrera(Universidad de Alicante): She will work withJavier de Mendoza’s research group.
• Mariya Chernobryva(Queen Mary University of London): She will work underRubén Martín’s supervision.
• Vladimir Sánchez Gonzaga(Universidad de Granada): He will joinAntonio M. Echavarren’s research group.
• Jens Andersson(University of Gothenburg):Kilian Muñiz will be his supervisor.
