Xavier developed an interesting research project on synthesis of polyols and polyurethanes based on renewable sources in URV’s Sustainable Polymers Group. He got an URV-ICIQ grant in October 2011 to develop interdisciplinary Ph. D studies on the experimental and theoretical design of selective catalytic systems in organoborane chemistry under the supervision of Drs. Elena Fernández and Carles Bo.

He defended his thesis on 28th October 2015.
