Enrico graduated in Chemistry in October 2022 at the University of Padova under the supervision of Professor Giulia Licini. His thesis project focused on the light-induced oxidative cleavage of vicinal diols in the presence of vanadium aminotriphenolate complexes. During this internship, he dealt with the synthesis, purification, and characterization of vanadium aminotriphenolates and vicinal aliphatic diols. Then he used the vanadium complexes to catalyze thermal and photo-oxidative cleavage of diols, following the reaction kinetics. After graduation, he started working in Columbia Holding’s R&D department as a laboratory technician. Here, he is dealing with polyacrylamide synthesis and the development of a novel catalytic process to produce a cationic monomer.
