When Ju-Yen was an undergraduate student, he joined the group of Prof. Yong Jian Zhang which focus on the palladium catalysis. He worked on three-component tandem reaction and did the condition optimization and scope expansion. After graduating from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, he worked as a research assistant in the group of Prof. Yi-Tsu Chan at National Taiwan University, and did the synthesis of terpyridine based ligands for constructing supramolecular cluster. During his time at Freie Universität Berlin, he did the internship in the group of Dr. John Molloy at Max Planck Institute and did the design and synthesis of several boron contained compounds as the biological probes. And recently, he did the internship in the group of Prof. Christmann Mathias, and studied on the mechanism of alpha chlorination of aldehydes.
