José Manuel González Acosta

PhD Student

José Manuel studied chemistry at the University of Seville. During this time, he was a student intern and also did his work experience at the cicCartuja research centre. There he learned about the use of computational chemistry to support the study of homogeneous catalysis using organometals. This included the study of different reactions using frustrated Lewis pairs (FLP). He then carried out his undergraduate project, which focused on the improvement of the Noyori-type catalyst in the asymmetric hydrogenation of imines. He has a Master’s degree in Theoretical Chemistry and Molecular Modelling from the University of Vigo. His experience, both from the Master’s degree and from the various projects he has undertaken, therefore includes experience in the use of computational chemistry software, programming experience and versatility in the design of experiments using theoretical chemistry.
