Joan Vicent Estornell

Joan completed his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry at the Universitat de Valencia, where he conducted research on the synthesis, modification, and functionalization of benzodiazepines as a member of the AsymCat Group. Subsequently, he pursued his Master’s studies at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in the MSc program for Synthesis, Catalysis, and Molecular Design. During this time, he focused on developing photochemical decarboxylative and desulfonylative allylation strategies.

He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies with a primary focus on activating inert C-H bonds and strong C-X bonds. His research is also centered on developing procedures for decarboxylative C-C bond formation, utilizing both photochemistry and transition metal catalysis.
