Diego holds a Master’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology from the University of Urbino and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Manchester, where his research focused on the rational development of improved catalysts for C–H functionalization via C–H activation and the mechanistic study of organic reactions. He then spent three years working in the chemical industry, where he leveraged his catalysis expertise and mechanistic mindset to design and develop routes to Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, tackling real-world challenges while working alongside a wide range of organizations, from innovative biotech to large pharmaceutical firms.
