Simone Baldon is a first-year PhD student in the group of Professor Dell’Amico at the University of Padua. Regarding his training, he received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in 2021 with a grade of 110/110 cum Laude and then he received his Master’s degree in Chemistry in 2023 with a grade of 110/110 cum Laude. In the same year he started the PhD program, as previously mentioned. During these years of study, he delved into the main branches of chemistry such as physical-chemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry and analytical chemistry, preferring organic chemistry in my study. During his Master’s thesis period he delved into the branch of photocatalysis with a thesis entitled “Synthesis of difluoro-alkyl sulfoximines via a light-promoted atom transfer radical addition (ATRA) process.” Currently, his field of work is photocatalysis and organocatalysis, with the study and development of new organic photocatalysts that can be used for fine organic synthesis
