Carla Alamillo Ferrer, was born in Barcelona (Spain), received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry (2011) and completed her MSc in Organic Chemistry (2013), both at the University of Barcelona. In 2017 she obtained her PhD in Organic Chemistry at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, under the supervision of Prof. Nicholas Tomkinson, working on metal-free functionalization of alkenes. Her postdoctoral studies began at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill working in the preparation of chemical probes for understudied kinases, followed by the development of mechanistic studies in the Burés group at the University of Manchester with the purpose to improve and understand chemical reactions. In 2023 she gained industrial experience as a Senior Scientist working for Pharmaron.
