Adiran did a short stay in the group as part of his B. Sc. internship and later joined the group as a Master student. He got his M. Sc. in Chemistry in July 2015.

Adiran worked on the project “Mechanistic insight into the reactions of six-coordinate Ru-acetate derivatives”. He will analyze through computational chemistry the role of the acetate ligand in the peculiar reactivity of Ru(II) complexes, in particular on their ability to activate the C-H bond of alkyne and alkene compounds. The reasons why the complex with the chelating acetate is more reactive than that with the monocoordinating chloride will be studied through the calculation of intermediates and transition states with DFT and DFT/MM methodologies.

Adiran got his Ph. D. from the URV university in October 2019.
