This yearly event organized for and by PhD students was released with an attendance of more than 130 students during October 20-21. For the first time this year ICIQ PhD students count with the support of PhD URV students, inaugurating for the first time the ICIQ-URV PhD Day.

This edition has counted with an outstanding participation with 29 flash and 27 poster presentations, in which students could share their knowledge and best practices around chemical research they are carrying out.

Moreover, a panel with experts from different fields was organized and the students could discover interesting careers and paths to follow in near future. Concretely, the invited speakers were Prof. Marcos G. Suero, Group Leader at ICIQ, Dr. Cayetana Zárate, Scientist at Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, Prof. Montserrat Diéguez, Prof. at Universitat Rovira i Virgili, Prof. Antonio Togni, Emeritus professor at ETH Zürich, Dr. Joan Guillem Mayans, Scientific Education and Outreach Officer at ICIQ, Prof. Pelayo García de Arquer, Group Leader at ICFO and Mireia Trepat, Co-founder and CMO of Freshly Cosmetics.

At the end, the organizing committee has promoted the awards for best flash presentation and best poster presentation which were discussed and selected by invited speakers.

The organizing committee was formed by Carlota Odena, Isabel Arranz, Àlex Martí, Tania Medina Gil, Pablo Mora and Neus Sunyé (from ICIQ), and , Pol de la Cruz, Jordi Faiges, Sara González and Oriol Salvadó (from URV).
