This week Paulina Prslja and Federico Dattila (from the López group) have participated in the “Science is Wonderful!” event representing the ELCOREL project (MSCA-ITN).
Science is Wonderful! is a science exhibition organized by the European Commission. The event is part of the European Research & Innovation Days (September 22nd-24th) and aims to bring science closer to the general public. The topics discussed included global warming, fighting cancer, hunger prevention, among others. This edition, the exhibition went virtual with 40 stands where researchers used avatars to interact with the participants and explain their projects. “I had the feeling that I was in a videogame. It was fun!” smiles Prslja.
The ELCOREL stand was the place to learn about electrochemical water splitting and CO2 reduction through interactive sessions and videos. “I love the idea of having an annual hub where some nice European initiatives can present their results and their expertise. We need more events like this to make people aware of the importance of EU projects,” concludes Dattila.
