After a demanding evaluation by several members of the Scientific Committee of the Institute, Ruben Martin has gone from Tenure Track to be one of the Principal Investigators at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia.
Ruben has developed a successful line of research, focused on the activation of relatively inert molecules and chemical bonds, supported by several publications in international journals, an ERC Grant and a research group that has been continuously increasing.
‘I would like to share my happiness with my family, previous mentors and in particular, with my research group, both past and present. They have conducted an incredible job and I am very proud of them.’ – says Rubén Martín.
As for the research centre, Rubén adds ‘ICIQ has provided a wonderful environment to perform scientific research over the past few years. I can’t think of a better place to continue my career and I hope to develop new opportunities and new directions for my laboratory. Indeed, as quoted by Julius Caesar, “nothing is so difficult that it cannot be easily accomplished with careful planning”‘
