The use of supramolecular chirality, and in particular the creation of artificial chirogenesis effects, is an emerging field of science that offers new and exciting possibilities for the assembly of materials with unprecedented features. In this mini-review, we highlight the most recent developments in the area of chirogenesis. More specifically, the fundamental challenges and advancements that characterize supramolecular chirogenesis, together with applications in asymmetric catalysis with metal complexes and organocatalysts, and the use of chirogenesis in materials science will be surveyed.
