The article Light Switches the Ligand! Photochromic Azobenzene-Phosphanes (Eur. J. Inorg. Chem. 2010, 14, 2075-2078), authored by Maria Dolores Segarra-Maset, Piet W. N. M. van Leeuwen and Zoraida Freixa, has been highlighted on the Cover of European Journal of Inorganic Chemistry.
The authors report the synthesis of three phosphanes containing azobenzene groups, and the photochemical behaviour of their platinum complexes by using the light-induced (E)/(Z) isomerization as a switch to change ligand properties.
