Light-driven systems for energy, health and environmental remediation.

Research

Our research line is focused on a rational design of nanostructured photocatalytic systems based on multicomponent heterojunctions that can efficiently convert polluting compounds into high-value chemicals and fuels. On the other hand, we are also devoted to the development of light-driven micro/nanorobots for water purification and photodynamic therapy. These approaches are in line with the sustainable development goals from the EU, including clean energy generation, water decontamination and good health.

In our research group, we work on the development of nanostructure photocatalytic materials for the generation of solar fuels, and design of photoactive micromotors for environmental remediation
