Project description

The group's activity is mainly focused on the design of new catalytic methods for the activation of inert C-H, C-O, C-C bonds and the carbon dioxide (CO2) molecule to produce products with high added value.

In the period 2017-2021, the research group has published 51 high-level scientific articles, 75% of which have an impact index greater than 11 (including publications in Nature or Nature Catalysis), making it a world benchmark in its area of research. In recent years, Prof. Rubén Martín has received 18 international awards and distinctions, including 1 x ERC-Starting Grant and 1 x ERC-Advanced Grant and being included in the Forbes top 50 awarded spaniards list. He has given >70 talks at national/international congresses, pharmaceutical companies. Currently, he leads a research group of 27 researchers, and >5 students have been selected with the Eli Lilly PhD award for best doctoral thesis.
