| Last February 26, the Goverment Council of Rovira i Virgili University (URV) has approved the proposal to invest Doctor Honoris Causa by this university to Prof. Piet van Leeuwen.The ceremony has taken place today, October 14, Prof. Carmen Claver being in charge to present Prof. van Leeuwen’s achievements, and she pointed out that he is the first Chemist invested Honoris Causa by this university.
During his speach, Prof. van Leeuwen stated it is an honour for him to be a member of the faculty of URV, and highlighted during his speach the importance of research in catalysis for the development of chemical processes and products of industrial use which minimize energetic expenses, produce few residues and are environmentally friendly. |
