PHOTORED project marks two and a half years with a consortium meeting

Consortium partners gather in Valencia, Spain to review progress and strategize future actions

On July 8th, 2024, the PHOTORED project celebrated its two-and-a-half-year milestone with a significant working meeting in Valencia, Spain. Hosted by the Institute of Chemical Technology ITQ (UPV-CSIC), the event brought together consortium partners to discuss the project’s progress and strategize for future actions.

The meeting kicked off with a welcome from ITQ (UPV-CSIC) and featured discussions on recent developments in the four main work packages: WP1: Green Deal Target Molecules, WP2: Synthesis/Characterization of Photocatalysts for CO2 Hydrogenation, WP3: Analysis/Evaluation of Developed Photocatalysts, WP4: Pilot Plant – Portable Photocatalytic Prototype.

In the later sessions, partners outlined the work plan for the next six months (M30-M36), detailing specific actions, deliverables, and milestones to ensure ongoing collaboration and sustained progress towards the project’s goals. This comprehensive plan aims to maintain collaboration among partners and ensure sustained progress until the project’s completion at the end of the year.

About PHOTORED:

PHOTORED is a research project funded by the Spanish Research State Agency (AEI) thanks to the “Plan de recuperación para Europa” ‘NextGenerationEU’ of the European Union and is part of the Spanish State Program “R+D+i Oriented to the Challenges of Society”, within the framework of the Spanish State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation 2017-2020.

The project is coordinated by the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) and led by the Director and Group Leader at ICIQ, Emilio Palomares. The consortium brings together four partners of complementary expertise: ICIQ and the Institute of Chemical Technology (ITQ, UPV-CSIC), who will work on materials preparation as well as bring their expertise in photocatalysis; the Industrial-Technological Centre from Castilla La Mancha (ITECAM), who will focus on the production of green H2; and the company DAM who will bring expertise in urban wastewater treatment and biogas facilities exploitation.
