Research on unusual trinuclear supramolecular assemblies from Arjan Kleij's group reaches the cover in European Journal of Inorganic Chemistry

The article Formation of unusual trinuclear assemblies: Scope and mechanism of Zn(salphen)-templated activation of pyridine-alcohol substrates (Eur. J. Inorg. Chem. 2009, 5307-5318), authored by Marta Martínez Belmonte, Eduardo C. Escudero-Adán, Jordi Benet-Buchholz, and Arjan W. Kleij, has been highlighted on the Cover of European Journal of Inorganic Chemistry on issue 35.
The authors report the Zn(salphen)-templated synthesis and solution and solid-phase analysis of a series of unusual trinuclear supramolecular assemblies. Under suitable conditions, a non-symmetrical Zn complex comprising two monoanionic pyridine-alcohol ligands is formed, which combines with two Zn(salphen) units to provide the Zn3 structures.
