ICIQ group leader will bring expertise in catalysis and sustainable synthesis to the RSC journal
7th April 2025 – Prof. Arjan W. Kleij, Group Leader at the ICIQ, has been appointed as a member of the Editorial Board of Green Chemistry, a journal published by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).
Green Chemistry is a leading journal in the field, publishing research that aims to reduce the environmental impact of chemical processes and promote sustainability in chemical production. The journal focuses on innovation in the design of chemical products and processes that minimise or eliminate the use and generation of hazardous substances.
Prof. Kleij’s appointment reflects his group’s recognised contributions to the field of green and sustainable chemistry. His research focuses on the development of new catalytic methodologies, with an emphasis on CO₂ and biomass utilisation, and the synthesis of value-added materials through sustainable strategies.
“The RSC is among the most prestigious publishers of scientific journals in the world, and my appointment as an Editorial Board Member (EBM) is a recognition of the position my research team has in the area of green and sustainable chemistry. It will allow me to contribute to shape its future,” says Prof. Kleij.
In addition to this role, Prof. Kleij is also a member of the Advisory Boards of ChemSusChem (Wiley) and ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering (American Chemical Society).
