Marcos G. Suero has been awarded the Young Investigator Award 2019 by the EuCheMS Division of Organic Chemistry for “his significant and innovative discoveries in photoredox catalysis, and particularly for his studies on the generation of carbyne equivalents for late stage functionalization of aromatic compounds, and of radical carbenoids for the stereoconvergent formation of cyclopropanes.”
EuCheMS Division of Organic Chemistry “Young Investigator Award” aims at recognizing the scientific contribution of the most promising European Organic Chemist under the age of 40, and is sponsored by the European Journal of Organic Chemistry. The winner is selected by an international panel from the pool of participants of the Young Investigator Workshop, the flagship annual event of EuCheMS Division of Organic Chemistry, which with a small number of attendees, ensures the highest quality output as well as interactive exchanges between participants.
