Next Tuesday, ICIQ will hold two academic events as a closing act for the 2011 International Year of Chemistry.

-Professor Richard R. Schrock (MIT) will deliver a seminar entitled “Solving the Final Problems in Olefin Metathesis, Z and E Selectivity” (12h, ICIQ Auditorium)

-Professor José Barluenga (Universidad de Oviedo) will be honored with the ICIQ’s Fèlix Serratosa Medal for his scientific career. Afterwards, Prof. Barluenga will deliver the talk “The Trip to Ithaca, Penelope and Science: Reflections on a Chemical Odyssey” (17h, ICIQ Auditorium)

Lastly, we’ll end the day with the inauguration of a painting exhibition by Fidel Solé. This will take place at ICIQ's entrance hall (19h).
