Business development and innovation projects
ICIQ research has an impact on people’s quality of life through collaborations with industry and other research institutes. Partners can develop and market products and services derived from the ICIQ knowledge and technologies, increasing their competitiveness and creating new qualified jobs.
The collaboration with industry is possible through Contract Research Projects, that makes use of the expertise of a research group or a technology and innovation unit to develop a project proposed by a company; and Joint Units, a dynamic partnership agreement between a company and the centre, allowing accessibility to a fully equipped chemistry laboratory, in addition to possible access to the institution Core Facilities.
This type of collaboration makes use of the expertise of a research group or ICIQ technology development unit to successfully undertake a research project proposed by industry.
The average project involves one or more post-doctoral researcher working full-time under the supervision of an ICIQ Group Leader, with possible access to ICIQ facilities. The research objectives are set by the industrial partner, and 100% of the resulting intellectual property is assigned to the company (unless otherwise agreed). This collaboration is set by signing an specific contract stating the basic conditions such as cost, researchers involved and any particular characteristics regarding the research project.
The unit has developed more than 600 services and projects since it was born, in 2004, from more than 90 international customers from pharmaceutical, materials and chemistry sectors, among others.
An exclusive solution to companies that are looking for outstanding facilities to carry out R&D and synthetic activities. This collaboration constitutes a long-term partnership agreement between the company and the ICIQ, allowing accessibility to a fully equipped chemistry laboratory, in addition to free access to the institution Core Facilities.
