Yesterday, the awards’ ceremony for the Premis Nacionals de Recerca took place at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, in Barcelona.
The director of the Institut Català d’Investigació Química, Miquel A. Pericàs, the rector of the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona, Ferran Sancho and the president of Henkel Ibérica, Luis Carlos Lacorte received the public-private partnership award in Research and Innovation from the hands of the president of the Generalitat, Artur Mas, the conseller de Economía, Andreu Mas-Collel and the president of the Fundación Catalana per la Recerca i la Innovació, Antoni Esteve.
Professor Pericàs thanked Ramón Bacardit, the main promoter of ICIQ-Henkel collaboration, and noted that ICIQ-Henkel mixed unit is a successful story of open innovation, an example of transferring knowledge to obtain own resources, and above all, a way to give young researchers a working alternative as they are integrated into Henkel structure.
