Special year for ICIQ’s talent with two of the Institute’s own named an award winner.
Dr. Katherine Villa, ICIQ Group Leader, has been awarded with the prize of Group Leader – Young Researcher Award of the Royal Spanish Society of Chemistry (RSEQ). This award recognizes the achievements of scientific in the early stages of its research career.
Villa, who has joined ICIQ in 2021, said she was honored and humbled to receive the award. The scientist is leading a research group on advanced photocatalytic materials for energy and environmental applications. Over the last two years, she has been successful in highly competitive grants, including an MSCA-COFUND-University of Padova, Beatriu de Pinós, la Caixa Junior Leader, Ramón y Cajal and ERC-StG 2022 for her project PhotoSwim.
