The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ-CERCA) has officially released its Equality Plan 2024-2027, a comprehensive roadmap designed to promote equality and inclusivity across all levels of the organization. This ambitious initiative outlines a series of strategic actions that will drive positive change and promote a more diverse and equitable workplace environment. The new plan builds upon the successes of previous editions 2019-2023, 2015-2018, incorporating learnings and expanding its scope.
With this plan, ICIQ aims to:
- Promote equal opportunities and eliminate all forms of discrimination.
- Raise awareness on inclusivity issues and unconscious bias through targeted training.
- Implement mentorship programmes to support professional growth, particularly for underrepresented groups.
- Encourage work-life balance with tailored initiatives, fostering a supportive environment for all staff.
This plan is the result of an in-depth diagnosis and evaluation of ICIQ’s current situation regarding gender balance and other diversity metrics.
The implementation, monitoring, and assessment of this third Equality Plan will be a collaborative effort, involving both the ICIQ Equality Commission and the wider ICIQ community. The initiatives outlined will be executed over the next four years, with a final evaluation of the plan’s impact set for December 2027.
