This year has started with new sustainable challenges for the Green ICIQ team. Xavier Blanch (SHEQ) will keep working in this volunteer group with three new incorporations: Dr. Joan Guillem Mayans, Ángel Rey (Scientific Education and Outreach Unit) and Elena Pedrola (KTT Communication). The new Green team will continue the work done since the group was created in 2019 and its participation as active member in the BIST Sustainable Research Working Group.
ICIQ research is advancing towards sustainable development, the Institute’s main goal. Chemistry has an essential role to play in developing new technologies to help address global energy and sustainability challenges for future generations. The center owns an Environmental Policy in order to undertake its activities in a sustainable manner. ICIQ intends to preserve natural resources through efficient and responsible use, and its management is committed to adopting all measures necessary to comply with the ICIQ Environmental Policy.
All the actions driven by the Green ICIQ team are implemented in accordance with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations 2030 Agenda. These actions will establish mechanisms for evaluating the environmental impact of our activities and will promote the active participation and a sense of responsibility among ICIQers.
The Green ICIQ team will inform properly the ICIQ staff and the ECO-Reps (person in charge of sustainability issues in each group or unit) about the new proposals and actions. They will also send information about some easy tips, advices and reminders in the corporate emails.
The email contact of Green ICIQ team is green@iciq.es. We are open to any suggestion or collaboration from the ICIQ staff.
