ICIQ is planning to establish HR policies such as career development training, the implementation of a Gender Equity Plan and the HRS4R recognition by the European Commission. The HR Department has encouraged the creation of the Social Involvement Committee (SIC) to assure the participation of ICIQ staff in the process of defining and implementing these policies. “The point is to set up these programmes all together and I am sure that ICIQ staff want to get involved in this task because HR policies affect them directly “, says Mario Lorenzo, HR manager.
Things are going fast and last week ICIQ’s SIC members were elected. The committee will be formed by two representatives of each of the institute areas: group leaders, pre-doctoral students, postdocs, research support area and industry project researchers, and management and direction areas.
“SIC is a place to sit together and to speak face to face with all the staff represented. It is important to count with their opinions and engage them in a common goal: To improve ICIQ’s life and make the most of our institute. This is the only way to success”, adds Mario Lorenzo.
