Nanographenes are receiving a great deal of attention because of their increasing performance in organic electronic applications. The properties of nanographenes are highly dependent on several structural variables such as the number of fused rings and their arrangement, and also, the presence of heteroatoms in the structure. We have developed several synthetic strategies that provide 1D,[1] 2D[2] and 3D[3] structures constituted by nanographenes. The most recent advances of these materials including synthetic routes, optoelectronic properties, and potential applications will be discussed.
