Professor Núria López has been awarded a ‘Proof of Concept’ (PoC) grant for the project ‘Big Data for Catalysis’.
The #BigData4Cat project aims to develop the ioChem-BD platform. A multi-headed tool aimed to parse, organise, publish and analyse results of computational chemistry research projects. Today, ICIQ has hosted a hackathon where the participants have tested ioChem-BD system and its functionalities trying to find bugs and making new suggestions.
Worth up to €150.000 per grant, ‘Proof of Concept’ funding helps ERC grant holders to bridge the gap between their existing frontier research and its commercial applications. This top-up funding will enable the scientists to cover costs of technical validation, create a start-up to explore business opportunities, or establish intellectual property rights, for example.
This is the third ERC Proof of Concept obtained by ICIQ, which adds to those received by professors Galán-Mascarós and Palomares.
