Elena de Orbe wins Extraordinary Thesis Award from URV

ICIQ alumnus Elena de Orbe has received the award for outstanding thesis on November 14^th, during the doctorate’s graduation ceremony of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. She did her thesis at ICIQ, supervised by Prof. Antonio M. Echavarren, and defended her thesis, entitled “Gold-Catalyzed Intermolecular Reactions of Alkynes with Alkenes: Novel Reactivities and Global Mechanistic Picture” on 14^th September 2018.

25 doctors of the 2017-18 promotion have won the Extraordinary Thesis Award in different fields of sciences and humanities. Cinta Sanz, who won the extraordinary prize of the doctorate program in Tourism and Leisure, spoke on behalf of the awardees during the ceremony. Josep Ribalta, director of URV’s Doctorate School; Joan Pedrerol, President of URV’s Social Council; and María José Figueras, Rector of the URV also attended the event.
