In July 2020, ICIQ was accredited as a “Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence” by the State Research Agency of the Ministry of Science and Innovation. This is the second time the institute obtains this recognition after having received it in 2014. The Severo Ochoa accreditation recognizes units and research centers that excel for being situated among the best in the world in their respective fields of research. Being recognized as a Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence is not only a recognition of scientific excellence but also a significant source of funding. This recognition represents an annual allocation of 1 million euros during a period of 4 years.
View on Google MapsFrom AP7 motorway: Take Exit 33 and follow the N-240 road to Tarragona. After the first set of traffic lights, follow the sign to “San Pedro y San Pablo” which leads you to the Avinguda Països Catalans, where the ICIQ is located.
From the centre of Tarragona: Once you get to the Plaça Imperial Tàrraco, take Avinguda Andorra until it becomes the N-240 road, and continue in the direction of Valls. Then take the Sant Pere i Sant Pau exit, which will lead you to Avinguda Països Catalans, on which ICIQ is located.

From the city centre, you can take bus number 5, 51 or 54 to the Sant Pere Sescelades Campus where ICIQ is located. For further information, please see the public transportation company website EMT.
There are also many long-distance buses which link Tarragona with other cities. Tarragona’s bus station is at Plaça Imperial Tàrraco (for further information you can call +34 977 214 475). The Plana coach company operates the Barcelona-Tarragona route several times a day.
