The Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) and the ESADE Business School will organise a course “From Science to Business” with the goal of accelerating the transfer of technologies developed in the BIST research institutes to the marketplace.
This intensive three-day course is aimed at scientists who work in the six BIST centres, the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ), the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2), the Institute for High Energy Physics (IFAE), the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO), and the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona). “From Science to Business”, which was created by ICFO and has been offered there for six years with excellent results, will take place from 31 May to 2 June at the Pedrables Campus of the ESADE Business School, in Barcelona.
“The initiative to undertake this course is in line with the BIST’s strategic objectives, which include promoting opportunities to transfer the cutting-edge science being developed in the six centres, fostering collaboration among researchers in the different knowledge areas, and offering high level training for PhD students, postdocs and group leaders,” highlights Dr. Montserrat Vendrell, Director General of BIST.
The course, taught by specialised faculty from ESADE, is divided into three areas: innovation and strategy, entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial finance.
