Last Friday, 13th November, Arjan Kleij and Emilio Palomares stopped being Tenure Track holders to start having their consolidated positions as Group Leaders at ICIQ. The process in between was not easy: They had to go through an extensive evaluation by several members of our Scientific Advisory Board.
That is the way it works here at ICIQ. Once you get an ICIQ Tenure Track, you know you have 5 years of hard work ahead of you in order to get results that prove that you deserve to continue investigating at the Institute. At the end of your fifth year, several members of our Scientific Advisory Board, who have expertise in the relevant research area, evaluate the investigation developed during those years. If the evaluation is positive, you consolidate your position as ICIQ Group Leader.
Nevertheless, even when you have consolidated your position as group leader, you need to pass subsequent evaluations by members of the Scientific Advisory Board every five years.
This system ensures the commitment towards advancing the chemical sciences, developing our researchers’ scientific careers, providing the society and scientific community with new scientific results and reinforcing our policy of attracting the best talent.
Congratulations to Arjan and Emilio for a well-deserved consolidation of their positions at ICIQ.
