Studies on Halogenated Marine Natural Products as Inspired by their Probable Biogenesis
Marine algae provide a dazzling array of complex halogenated secondary metabolites. We have been engaged in the synthesis of such molecules as inspired by their probable biogenesis (often via bromonium ions). Recent results from our laboratory in this area will be presented.
