Design and Application of Organoboron Fluorophores

Tetracoordinate organoboron chelates will be discussed as worthwhile photophysically engineered alternatives for the widely used Bodipy family. The seminar will highlight the preparation and photophysical characteristics of versatile dye platforms derived from synthetically flexible ligand systems with N and O donor sites. Special emphasis will be given to non-linear optical phenomena that could be of interest for multiphoton fluorescence microscopy.
