Beatriu de Pinós Grant | Zexian Li

New asymmetric bond activations by a catalytic carbyne transfer

Grant description

The Beatriu de Pinós programme (posdocBP) focuses on the attraction of post-doctoral research talent. The programme, funded by the Direcció General de Recerca de la Generalitat de Catalunya (General Directorate for Research in the Government of Catalonia) and managed by AGAUR, was launched in 2005.

The goal of the calls in the Beatriu de Pinós programme is to provide individual funding support for the recruitment and incorporation of post-doctoral researchers in the Catalan system of science and technology. Researchers are allowed to freely choose their own research project in any field. Candidate selection is performed through an independent, transparent and competitive evaluation process.

The posdocBP programme is aimed at the professional development of research staff in three areas: leadership, independence and consolidation. Besides, it promotes international mobility, multidisciplinary and intersectoral collaboration, and fosters supplementary training of researchers in transversal skills.

Zexian Li was born in Henan province, People’s Republic of China, in 1992. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemistry and organic chemistry from Zhengzhou University in 2015 and 2017. Then, he moved to Nanjing University and completed his Ph.D. in organic chemistry with Prof. Zhuangzhi Shi. In 2021, he joined the group of Prof. Zhuangzhi Shi at Nanjing University, as a research fellow. His current research efforts are focused on synthetic methodology, including the C-H activation and asymmetric catalysis.
