Daniel is a last-year Ph.D. student working with Prof. Ataualpa A. C. Braga at the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil). He carries out a computational study using DFT to investigate possible mechanisms for the production of C1 and C2+ molecules, using CO2 as the primary source of C1. His project focuses the most on finding a plausible pathway to achieve a C-C bond directly from carbon dioxide. Daniel will spend 12 months in the group to complement his computational studies with other theoretical tools like microkinetic modelling.
