Javier obtained his PhD degree in computational chemistry at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), in the field of materials science and catalysis (January 2020). After his PhD, he moved to the Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, USA) where he started as a postdoctoral researcher under the supervision of Prof. Zachary Ulissi. His work focuses on materials discovery for clean energy production, hinging on machine learning and workflow engineering. He is working in a challenging project in collaboration with NCCR Catalysis, Switzerland
