Dr. Yann Baumgartner

Postdoctoral Researcher

Yann was born in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, and studied chemistry at the University of Basel. He joined the group of Prof. Olivier Baudoin for his Master thesis, where he worked on the enantioselective α-arylation of O-carbamates. He then began his doctoral studies in October 2016 in the Baudoin group, during which he focused on the development of C-H functionalisation through palladium-catalysed migratory cross-coupling. He graduated in October 2020 and joined the group of Prof. Paolo Melchiorre as a SNF Postdoctoral Researcher in January 2021. In his spare time, he enjoys the nature either by foot, ski or motorbike, as well as spending time with friends over a board game and beer.
