Empowering dye-sensitized solar cells with Cr-doped SrTiO3 nano system: A promising approach to tackle carrier leakage and boost efficiency

In this study, we report a breakthrough in perovskite SrTiO3 by enriching the open circuit voltage and power conversion efficiency through Cr doping. Our findings demonstrate a remarkable improvement of 219% in the short-circuit current density (Jsc) for SrTi0.95Cr0.05O3 photoelectrodes compared to pristine SrTiO3. Additionally, we achieved a power conversion efficiency of 5.62% in nanoparticles of SrTi0.95Cr0.05O3 with TiO2 scattering layer photoanodes. The impressive results were achieved due to the higher dielectric constant and high con-ductivity of the material, which paves the way for replacing traditional TiO2 as an electron transporter in future DSSC technology.
