Scientific workshops and guided tours

Workshops for high school students

With these workshops we intend to bring closer the practical part of chemistry to complement the theory given in class. To this end, we offer six different workshops based on topics studied at high school such as pH, redox chemistry or catalysis, each one consisting in 5 or 6 experiments that will help the student to understand different chemical principals by experimenting.

In this workshop, various concepts related to acid-base chemical reactions are explored, such as pH indicators. Through titrations, participants learn to quantify the acidity of some commercially used products like vinegar.

Don’t be so basic

In this workshop, we delve into the concept of catalysis. We illustrate it with a series of highly visual experiments suitable for conducting in a school laboratory. We also cover topics such as catalytic efficiency and autocatalysis.

Catalysis in action

The products that are part of first-aid-kits will help us discover properties and effects of different chemical compounds. We will identify the substances responsible for the action of these types of products.

First aid kit

This workshop focuses on introducing students to redox chemical reactions through entertaining experiments involving color changes. It also includes experiments to better understand the behavior of metals, both oxidation and reduction processes.

The electron dance

We use food to demonstrate different chemical reactions and analyze the components of some foods to explain their distinctive properties. It's an ideal workshop to combine chemistry with appetite, and even eat some of the experiments!

Chemistry that nourishes

We experiment with household cleaning products. From purifying water to cleaning coins or experimenting with thin-layer chromatography techniques.

Clean and polished

Workshops for primary school students

An activity designed as an introduction to chemistry and experimentation. The students will join our staff in the laboratory to perform a series of safe and visual experiments with the goal of stimulating their curiosity and motivation for science.
