Engineering a mild and site-selective Ru-catalyzed C(sp2)–H alkylation protocol

(Preview) In this issue of Chem Catalysis, the Larrosa research group develops a synthetic methodology that enables the formation of aryl–alkyl bonds, via C–H activation, by the use of a p-cymene-free mono-cyclometalated Ru(II) catalyst and primary alkyl bromides as coupling partners.
