ICIQ is pleased to welcome 12 students to the ICIQ Summer Fellowship Programme supported by the Severo Ochoa Programme of Excellence. This initiative aims to provide young researchers with hands-on experience in chemical research, fostering the next generation of scientific leaders.
The Summer Fellowship Programme at ICIQ offers participants a unique opportunity to work alongside world-renowned scientists, engaging in innovative projects and gaining valuable insights into the field of chemistry.
Selected through a competitive application process, in which more than 1,000 candidatures are received, these 12 students stand out for their exceptional background and a passion for scientific discovery.
Throughout the programme, the students will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources at ICIQ, enabling them to conduct meaningful research and contribute to ongoing projects within the Institute. Under the mentorship of experienced researchers, they will have the chance to enhance their practical skills and theoretical knowledge in a dynamic research environment.
Yesterday during the welcome session, Prof. Antonio M. Echavarren, Scientific Director of Severo Ochoa Excellence Programme at ICIQ and Prof. Arjan W. Kleij, Chair of the Academic Committee of the centre officially greeted the fellows. They highlighted the importance of the Summer Fellowship Programme to attract excellent young talent to ICIQ. Both professors expreeessed their enthusiasm for the students upcoming contributions and encouraged them to take full advantage of the opportunities at ICIQ.
“As the fellows embark on this journey, they will expand their scientific perspectives and build lasting connections with peers and experts. ICIQ looks forward to witnessing their growth and contributions as they delve into the world of research”, stated Prof. Antonio Echavarren.
