Francesco Della Monica wins PhD thesis award in the field of Green Chemistry

24th July 2019 – Francesco Della Monica, postdoctoral researcher working at the Kleij Group, has been awarded the Cinzia Chiappe Prize 2019 by the Italian Society of Chemistry (SCI) to the two best PhD Thesis in the area of ‘Green Chemistry, Sustainable Chemistry’ – being Dr. Carla Calabrese the other recipient of the prize. Della Monica has been awarded the Cinzia Chiappe Prize for his thesis entitled “Development of Iron-Based Catalysts for the Coupling of Carbon Dioxide with Epoxide”, obtained at the Università degli Studi di Salerno under the supervision of Prof. Carmine Capacchione.

Della Monica received the award on July 5th, during the “VII Workshop Nazionale Gruppo Interdivisionale di Green Chemistry – Chimica Sostenibile” in the historical Palazzo Bo, home of the University of Padua. As part of the recognition, the awardees also gave a keynote presentation during the workshop.
