The 2022 RSEQ-Lilly awards for PhD students have just been announced. This year, Craig Day, PhD student in the Martin group is one of the three awardees together with Javier Corpas (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid) and Laia Vicens (Universitat de Girona). Day carries out his research in the Martin group, focused on unravelling the intricacies of nickel-catalysed reductive coupling reactions, and has been awarded for his contributions to the understanding of reactions catalysed by transition metals with the aim of improving them by including additives or developing new transformations.
The awardees will receive a 2000€ prize and an invitation to present their work in a oral presentation during the XXXVIII Biennial Meeting of the RSEQ, which will take place in Granada on June 27th.
With these awards, Lilly recognises research excellence and the link between the academic field and the pharmaceutical industry.
